North Pine Capital is a private family office. We invest our own capital in real assets, real companies and the technologies reshaping them, with roots in property and energy. Some investments we manage in house; for others we seek the finest asset managers and companies in their fields and invest alongside them.

We seek attractive, durable returns from real assets, real companies and secured positions, with a deliberate regard for the preservation of capital. We avoid the excess leverage, volatility and lock-ups common to much of the fund world.
Depreciation, depletion, like-kind exchanges, incentive programs and entity design are weighed at the outset, so that each opportunity is built around the after-tax result that remains.
Some investments we manage ourselves. For others we seek the best asset manager in the field and invest alongside them, or take a direct position in a company. Either way the office stays close to the asset, and our partners find us decisive, strategic and plain-dealing.
